November rainfall records could tumble as parts of Queensland prepare for yet another week of storms and damp weather conditions.

South-east Queenslanders woke to intense thunderstorm warnings this morning, as intense rainfall was recorded across the area.

Ma Ma Creek in the Lockyer Valley recorded 72 millimetres in an hour, even though 45mm fell in a lot less than 30 minutes in Gatton.

Meteorologist Helen Kirkup claimed there was still some energetic thunderstorms expected to strike elements of Queensland through the morning and afternoon.

“It’s a quite good procedure,” Ms Kirkup explained.

“So extremely intensive rainfall, coming from some of the thunderstorms.

“But in common, by that location, there’s some quite prevalent rain and showers as very well so I believe we’ll keep on to see that by way of this early morning and then commonly relocating slowly but surely eastward.

“So tomorrow, [we’re] nevertheless expecting showers and thunderstorms around some sections of that south-east corner and up in the direction of the Capricornia Coastline, then we’ll see an easing pattern into Wednesday.”

Flooding feasible later on in the 7 days

But Ms Kirkup has warned that Wednesday would not spell the close of the week’s soaked climate.

“The next primary trough method which is heading to appear as a result of, and again bring popular showers and thunderstorms, will be Thursday and in the east right up until Friday,” she mentioned.

“So we’ll see a next type of reasonably extreme band of storms and showers transfer by at the finish of the week.”

Mr Kirkup explained dampness remaining dragged in from the Indian Ocean and Coral Sea was behind the weather conditions process.

“Just with the huge inflow of moisture from the ocean, there is a good deal in the ambiance so when it kind of brings together to get started slipping on the floor, we are receiving some really quite soaking rain throughout the location,” she reported.

“It’ll be quite exciting to see, when we do get to the close of November, what those rainfall stats clearly show because it is really most likely that we will be observing some form of shut-to-file November rainfalls in some locations.

“The other detail for Thursday and Friday is that it’s not out of the dilemma that we’ll see some of these river programs start off to raise their amounts once more and so we are cautious that we could see renewed rises in some of people rivers.

“And it’s not out of query that we could get some of individuals rivers in flood yet again at the conclusion of the 7 days.”
